AFWN 2016 HAS KICKED OFF


The much anticipated Africa Fashion Week Nigeria (AFWN) 2016, has kicked off!

The event which kick started on Friday, July 1 is billed to showcase about 60 designers from across Africa, unveiling their latest designs for the event set to be one of the biggest fashion shows in Africa.
With the theme ‘’Connecting Africa’’ this year’s event took off  with the Textile and Garment Manufacturing Conference, which held at Eko Hotels and Suites Victoria Island.

The conference which is first of its kind brought industry experts together under one roof, to deliberate on ways of maximizing the potentials within the fashion industry so as to enhance the economic fortunes of the nation.

The 2nd and 3rd which is billed for 2nd and 3rd July will feature catwalk shows from emerging and established designers, with an influx of designers, buyers and exhibitors on display.
The AFWN launched in 2014, a sister event to the Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL) was founded by Ronke Ademiluyi, to project Africa and her creativity to the world.

INSTRUMENTS OF GOD

The Holy Trinity  “Whoever listens to you listens to me. Whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.” Luke 10:16 Jesus makes a threefold connection in this passage. He connects you to Him and Himself to the Father. Thus, when you are acting as a true instrument of the Lord, and another either listens to or rejects what you bring to them, then they are either listening to or rejecting not only you but also our Lord and the Father in Heaven. One thing this reveals is the awesome responsibility we all have to bring the love and mercy of the Father in Heaven to those whom we encounter every day. We are able to be true instruments of God. In making such a strong connection between us, Himself and the Father in Heaven, Jesus is elevating our human dignity to an incredible level. The time has come for us to remind ourselves of what this country used to be. Modernization and perhaps civilization has made us all so comfortable we pay little or no attention to our historical background. The only time we feel the need to get informed about the history of this great country is when we have job interviews to attend. The current affairs being taught at the primary school is not doing enough justice as many adults do not have the basic knowledge of how this country evolved and came to be what it is now.
