GOODNESS GRACIOUS

Today's Verse

“So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all, and especially for those of the family of faith.”- Galatians 6:10
As Christians we are on display for the world to see. We need to be an example of all that is good, because if we aren’t it is too easy for people to point out our faults, to make a mockery of God and all that entails. Being good is the way God wants us to live, and that is in accordance to His Word. Being gracious goes along with goodness, in that “gracious” means to show kindness. Let us show all His attributes by exhibiting our love for Him to others. Just think of the possibilities that could come of us setting an example of God’s goodness and graciousness. What a wonderful change in the world it would make. - Commentary by: Anna Pachaud

Today's Prayer

Lord, help me be a vessel to share Your love and goodness with everyone I meet. Whether it is in person, through commentaries like this, or in anonymity, as I go about my day. Help me to demonstrate to others all that You are. Amen.

INSTRUMENTS OF GOD

The Holy Trinity  “Whoever listens to you listens to me. Whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.” Luke 10:16 Jesus makes a threefold connection in this passage. He connects you to Him and Himself to the Father. Thus, when you are acting as a true instrument of the Lord, and another either listens to or rejects what you bring to them, then they are either listening to or rejecting not only you but also our Lord and the Father in Heaven. One thing this reveals is the awesome responsibility we all have to bring the love and mercy of the Father in Heaven to those whom we encounter every day. We are able to be true instruments of God. In making such a strong connection between us, Himself and the Father in Heaven, Jesus is elevating our human dignity to an incredible level. The time has come for us to remind ourselves of what this country used to be. Modernization and perhaps civilization has made us all so comfortable we pay little or no attention to our historical background. The only time we feel the need to get informed about the history of this great country is when we have job interviews to attend. The current affairs being taught at the primary school is not doing enough justice as many adults do not have the basic knowledge of how this country evolved and came to be what it is now.
