SOUTHAMPTON NAME CLAUDE PUEL AS NEW COACH

Image
Claude Puel Southampton on Thursday named Frenchman Claude Puel as their new coach on a three-year deal. The 54-year-old former Monaco and Nice boss replaces Ronald Koeman, who left for English Premier League rivals Everton earlier this summer. Former Aston Villa coach Eric Black has been named as Puel’s assistant. “Claude clearly came out on top of a very impressive shortlist. We have not only got the best man, but the right coaching team to support him,” said Southampton’s executive director of football Les Reed. “Eric Black has an excellent pedigree as a coach and vast experience domestically and internationally. Pascal Plancque has an excellent record as a technical coach and, like Claude, has been responsible for developing many young French talents into top quality players. “Claude has a fantastic platform to work from and is aware that our ambition is to repeat and improve on our performances in the Premier League over the past three seasons. “Claude has a tr

8 LIES YOU'VE BEEN TOLD ABOUT VIRGINITY, HYMEN

Image
Recently, I have come across a number of posts on social media of women claiming to be virgins but they have engaged in every other sexual act except penetration. What really is virginity? The dictionary definition is: the state of never having had sexual intercourse. Female virginity is traditionally defined as the state of a woman who has not engaged in penis-vagina sexual intercourse. So what about all of the people who are engaged in several sexual activities, but aren’t having penetrative sex? Can you still call yourself a virgin if you kiss, cuddle and have oral and phone sex? There are a lot of misconceptions people have about the hymen and virginity and if one is not careful, you begin to believe them. Below are 8 misconceptions about virginity. 1. The hymen is located inside the vagina : Contrary to popular belief, it isn’t located inside  of the vagina. It’s just a thin membrane located at the opening of the vagina. 2. Your hymen is a sign of virginity

10 UNMISTAKABLE SIGNS SHOWING SHE IS INTERESTED IN YOU

There are moments when the men are probably too relaxed when it comes to dating; they would rather allow things to play out and watch where the tides take them. Women on the other hand do not really have that patience. Their emotions would always betray them and sell them out. It is very hard for women to keep their emotions bottled in; they would always find one way or the other to reach out to the men and commune with them. When they are not speaking, they use body languages and that seems to work faster than speeches at times for men who understand these unwritten codes. Men who do not have really have experience when it comes to dealing with women will find this piece helpful since it would be outrageous for us to tell women to be more forward and approach men first. The best we can do in this case is to help men decipher the signs ladies are throwing them. This would help them know when to act and when not to act. In reality, there are men who would hang around ladies

THIS PICTURES I BET YOU HAVE NOT SEEN

The time has come for us to remind ourselves of what this country used to be. Modernization and perhaps civilization has made us all so comfortable we pay little or no attention to our historical background. The only time we feel the need to get informed about the history of this great country is when we have job interviews to attend. The current affairs being taught at the primary school is not doing enough justice as many adults do not have the basic knowledge of how this country evolved and came to be what it is now. Majority of the people that represents that time of our history are gradually thinning out; the few left are either being celebrated for their works and investments or forgotten in some remote village. The pictures that would be shared here would jolt your memories and help many people know the kind of environment our fallen heroes lived in then. It is more than beautiful watching some Nollywood movies that create the picture of the kind of politics that was

The Catholic Church on Wednesday described Governor Rauf Aregbesola of  Osun as a major pillar of support of the church and debunked the  insinuation that the governor was attempting to Islamise the state.   The representatives of the Pope and Ambassador of the Vatican, Most  Reverend Augustine Kashuja said this in Osogbo, capital of Osun State  shortly after a meeting with Aregbesola alongside other Bishops  of the church as part of activities lined up for the ordination of a  new Bishop for the Osogbo Dioceses of the Catholic Church.   According to him, whenever things wants to go awry, the Church always  dialogue with government rather than make noise or stoke fire of  crisis.   Kashuja said: "Mr. Governor, I am delighted for your exceptional and  warm reception. You are a great supporter of the church. You are  friendly and cordial with the Church.   "There has not been any face-off since you resumed office because we  engage in dialogue a lot. When things go

BLIND CORRECTOR

Today's Verse "This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to act in accordance with all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall be successful.” - Matthew 7:3 It is quite interesting that those who can easily judge others have bigger problems themselves. It is impossible to correct other people’s mistakes and lead them to the right path if our eyes are blinded by our own sin. The verse speaks of a simple truth and a reminder for all of us. Let us not be quick to judge others when we have personal issues and problems that demands our attention. We should focus on how we can please God and glorify Him. So that we can teach others to do the same. Let us surrender totally to God and ask Him to forgive us so that we can learn to forgive others. Let us remember the two greatest commandment that Jesus mentioned. Let us love God with

MARTYRS

The First Martyrs of the See of Rome When the city of Rome had been devastated by fire in the year 64, the Emperor Nero launched a persecution against the Christians, who were thrown to the wild beasts in the arena or soaked in tar and used as living torches. Their deaths are documented in the writings of the Roman historian Tacitus and in Pope St Clement’s letter to the Corinthians. Their feast was celebrated the day after the feast of Saints Peter and Paul.
