THIRST FOR GOD

Today's Verse

O God, you are my God, I seek you, my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. - Psalm 63:1
There are no specific patterns of worship mentioned in the Bible. Worship, according to this verse is an earnest longing for God. It’s an activity of the heart. So when we come to worship God we should set our hearts and minds to seek Him. We should not seek to be entertained by the music, the preaching and the people. Worship is all about God and it is for God. Without His presence, we can never experience satisfaction and if our hearts are not seeking for His presence, we can never call that true worship. Worship is the outpouring of our hearts that results from our deep love for God. Let our hearts be like the dry and weary land that seeks water when we come to worship God. Let God be the living water that can quench and satisfy us. - Commentary by Jeremy B. Trio

Today's Prayer

Let my heart long for You O God. Help me to worship You with all of my heart and not with my preferences and personal desires. Amen.

INSTRUMENTS OF GOD

The Holy Trinity  “Whoever listens to you listens to me. Whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.” Luke 10:16 Jesus makes a threefold connection in this passage. He connects you to Him and Himself to the Father. Thus, when you are acting as a true instrument of the Lord, and another either listens to or rejects what you bring to them, then they are either listening to or rejecting not only you but also our Lord and the Father in Heaven. One thing this reveals is the awesome responsibility we all have to bring the love and mercy of the Father in Heaven to those whom we encounter every day. We are able to be true instruments of God. In making such a strong connection between us, Himself and the Father in Heaven, Jesus is elevating our human dignity to an incredible level. The time has come for us to remind ourselves of what this country used to be. Modernization and perhaps civilization has made us all so comfortable we pay little or no attention to our historical background. The only time we feel the need to get informed about the history of this great country is when we have job interviews to attend. The current affairs being taught at the primary school is not doing enough justice as many adults do not have the basic knowledge of how this country evolved and came to be what it is now.
