Today's Verse

“Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.” - Eph. 6:18
It can be hard sometimes to rely on something more than oneself. Truthfully though, we can’t make it on our own. At some point we will have to depend on someone or something else to help guide our path. Most of the time we let that guide become the things of the world. Reality is that we can’t depend on worldly things to help us, because the world is always changing. What it comes down to, is that we need to spend more time relying on God through the power of prayer. Prayer has always been one of the pillars of our faith. Many of the miracles in the Bible only took place because the individual prayed first. Today your challenge is to pray first. – Commentary by Matthew Elliott

Today's Prayer

God, thank You for the power Your prayer has in our lives. Today, I pray that You will guide my path. Reveal Your will to my heart and help me embrace it. Amen.

INSTRUMENTS OF GOD

The Holy Trinity  “Whoever listens to you listens to me. Whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.” Luke 10:16 Jesus makes a threefold connection in this passage. He connects you to Him and Himself to the Father. Thus, when you are acting as a true instrument of the Lord, and another either listens to or rejects what you bring to them, then they are either listening to or rejecting not only you but also our Lord and the Father in Heaven. One thing this reveals is the awesome responsibility we all have to bring the love and mercy of the Father in Heaven to those whom we encounter every day. We are able to be true instruments of God. In making such a strong connection between us, Himself and the Father in Heaven, Jesus is elevating our human dignity to an incredible level. The time has come for us to remind ourselves of what this country used to be. Modernization and perhaps civilization has made us all so comfortable we pay little or no attention to our historical background. The only time we feel the need to get informed about the history of this great country is when we have job interviews to attend. The current affairs being taught at the primary school is not doing enough justice as many adults do not have the basic knowledge of how this country evolved and came to be what it is now. Majority of the people that represents that time of our history are gradually thinning out; the few left are either being celebrated for their works and investments or forgotten in some remote village.
