BINDING TOGETHER IN PEACE

Today's Verse

"Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the spirit, binding yourselves together with peace." –Eph. 4:3
Unity is very important; It brings people together in the most amazing ways and is only brought forth through peace. When a husband and wife are not unified in the way their children are raised, is there peace in the home? If churches begins focusing more on their own agendas, and not on God's teachings does that bring peace? The answer to both is, no. Today, we have an opportunity to 'keep ourselves united in the spirit,' if we make the effort to do so. The bond of peace is a very powerful thing and it can break down walls that nothing else can. When you start feeling the chaos of the world around you, take a moment to stop and pray. God can help break down those walls and teach us what unity is really all about. – Commentary by Matthew Elliott

Today's Prayer

Father God, only because of You are we able to embrace a spirit of unity. Today, I pray that You will show me how truly wonderful binding together in peace and unity really is. Amen.

INSTRUMENTS OF GOD

The Holy Trinity  “Whoever listens to you listens to me. Whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.” Luke 10:16 Jesus makes a threefold connection in this passage. He connects you to Him and Himself to the Father. Thus, when you are acting as a true instrument of the Lord, and another either listens to or rejects what you bring to them, then they are either listening to or rejecting not only you but also our Lord and the Father in Heaven. One thing this reveals is the awesome responsibility we all have to bring the love and mercy of the Father in Heaven to those whom we encounter every day. We are able to be true instruments of God. In making such a strong connection between us, Himself and the Father in Heaven, Jesus is elevating our human dignity to an incredible level. The time has come for us to remind ourselves of what this country used to be. Modernization and perhaps civilization has made us all so comfortable we pay little or no attention to our historical background. The only time we feel the need to get informed about the history of this great country is when we have job interviews to attend. The current affairs being taught at the primary school is not doing enough justice as many adults do not have the basic knowledge of how this country evolved and came to be what it is now.
