LOVE ONE ANOTHER

Today's Verse

“For the whole law is summed up in a single commandment, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” If, however, you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another. Live by the Spirit, I say, and do not gratify the desires of the flesh.” Galatians 5:14-16
If you are destroying one another, then you do not love one another. This is a simple indication if the people in the church love each other according to what the Bible commands. On this chapter, Paul reminds the Galatian believers that they should love their neighbor as they love themselves. Paul advised them to be careful not to destroy one another and to live by the Spirit and do not gratify the desires of the flesh. This is also a reminder to us. We have the tendency to put our fellow Christians down and to destroy them by our words and actions. Let us be aware that when we do that we are not living according to the new life that God has given us but we are living according to our old and sinful life. – Commentary by Jeremy B. Trio

Today's Prayer

Lord, teach me to love others. You have renewed me and changed me with Your love. Now it’s my turn to reflect Your love to others especially to my fellow believers. Help me to be sensitive to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and not to be easily driven by my sinful nature. Amen.

INSTRUMENTS OF GOD

The Holy Trinity  “Whoever listens to you listens to me. Whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.” Luke 10:16 Jesus makes a threefold connection in this passage. He connects you to Him and Himself to the Father. Thus, when you are acting as a true instrument of the Lord, and another either listens to or rejects what you bring to them, then they are either listening to or rejecting not only you but also our Lord and the Father in Heaven. One thing this reveals is the awesome responsibility we all have to bring the love and mercy of the Father in Heaven to those whom we encounter every day. We are able to be true instruments of God. In making such a strong connection between us, Himself and the Father in Heaven, Jesus is elevating our human dignity to an incredible level. The time has come for us to remind ourselves of what this country used to be. Modernization and perhaps civilization has made us all so comfortable we pay little or no attention to our historical background. The only time we feel the need to get informed about the history of this great country is when we have job interviews to attend.
