THE FAITH OF REHAB

Today's Verse

“And said to the men: “I know that the Lord has given you the land, and that dread of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land melt in fear before you. 10 For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea[a] before you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites that were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed.” Joshua 2:9 – 10
Rahab, a prostitute and a resident of the city of Jericho choose to hide and protect the two spies of Israel against their king. This choice depends on her knowledge about God. What is interesting here is that Rahab didn’t have much knowledge about God. She only knew about God from stories. She had no knowledge about the laws of Moses or stories about Abraham. But even though her knowledge was limited, she placed her faith in the Lord and depend upon Him for her salvation. Most of us have good Biblical knowledge, but do we have faith like Rahab? Let us remember that it is not just how much you know the Bible, it’s your faith in what you know and your willingness to act on it. – Commentary by Jeremy B. Trio

Today's Prayer

Lord, teach me to trust You with all of my heart. Help me that as I grow deeper in knowing You, my mind and heart will fully trust You and surrender to You. In Jesus name, Amen.
