Today's Verse

"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own people, in order that you may proclaim the mighty acts of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light." – I Peter 2:9
Do you remember the childhood game follow the leader or Simon says? It is a challenging game. People follow one soul who is proclaimed to be the head of the group. They try to copy everything that they do in an ideal and straight forward fashion. Now, consider your life when you are a believer in Christ. You are a leader in a dark world, because the light of Christ is within you. Serving God and living for Him should be our life’s mission. We are essentially royalty as members of His family. We should rejoice and praise Him in every moment. Let it be our prayer that as we take each step, we do so in His image and likeness. May others see that uniqueness within us and want to follow the leader, learning more about He who has saved you. – Commentary by Lisa M. Leto

Today's Prayer

Lord, I ask You please to help me to live for You and serve You in a manner that is pleasing to You. Help me to be a light to others for Your great kingdom. Amen.

INSTRUMENTS OF GOD

The Holy Trinity  “Whoever listens to you listens to me. Whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.” Luke 10:16 Jesus makes a threefold connection in this passage. He connects you to Him and Himself to the Father. Thus, when you are acting as a true instrument of the Lord, and another either listens to or rejects what you bring to them, then they are either listening to or rejecting not only you but also our Lord and the Father in Heaven. One thing this reveals is the awesome responsibility we all have to bring the love and mercy of the Father in Heaven to those whom we encounter every day. We are able to be true instruments of God. In making such a strong connection between us, Himself and the Father in Heaven, Jesus is elevating our human dignity to an incredible level. The time has come for us to remind ourselves of what this country used to be. Modernization and perhaps civilization has made us all so comfortable we pay little or no attention to our historical background. The only time we feel the need to get informed about the history of this great country is when we have job interviews to attend. The current affairs being taught at the primary school is not doing enough justice as many adults do not have the basic knowledge of how this country evolved and came to be what it is now. Majority of the people that represents that time of our history are gradually thinning out; the few left are either being celebrated for their works and investments or forgotten in some remote village.
