Today's Verse

Loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and holding fast to him; for that means life to you and length of days, so that you may live in the land that the Lord swore to give to your ancestors, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. – Deuteronomy 30: 20
Carpentry is almost like an art form. An apprentice carpenter must learn the trade. But, yet, he must add his own personal touch. His greatest asset is his tool box. This treasure chest has everything that he will need to accomplish his best jobs. He learns with great diligence how to use each tool and to use it wisely. We all have our own personal tool treasure chest. When we have a personal relationship with God, and love Him with all of our heart, our tool chest continues to grow. He has provided us with many of the tools that we need to be the greatest that we can be. Some of these include: faith, trust, and strength. God desires for us to excel, and have the very best. He will enhance the tools that we have if we ask Him, and will provide many others along the way that He knows we will need. He wants us to always to our best. – Commentary by Lisa M. Leto

Today's Prayer

Father, please continue to fill my life box with everything wonderful that comes from You. I want to be the best that You want me to be. Amen.

INSTRUMENTS OF GOD

The Holy Trinity  “Whoever listens to you listens to me. Whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.” Luke 10:16 Jesus makes a threefold connection in this passage. He connects you to Him and Himself to the Father. Thus, when you are acting as a true instrument of the Lord, and another either listens to or rejects what you bring to them, then they are either listening to or rejecting not only you but also our Lord and the Father in Heaven. One thing this reveals is the awesome responsibility we all have to bring the love and mercy of the Father in Heaven to those whom we encounter every day. We are able to be true instruments of God. In making such a strong connection between us, Himself and the Father in Heaven, Jesus is elevating our human dignity to an incredible level. The time has come for us to remind ourselves of what this country used to be. Modernization and perhaps civilization has made us all so comfortable we pay little or no attention to our historical background. The only time we feel the need to get informed about the history of this great country is when we have job interviews to attend. The current affairs being taught at the primary school is not doing enough justice as many adults do not have the basic knowledge of how this country evolved and came to be what it is now.
